Bradpole Parish Council Statement

STEVE SPEAR

It is with the deepest regret that we have received the news of the tragic death of our Council Chair and friend Steve Spear.

Steve had been an active and prominent member of the community for 22 years, serving as both a Village Hall Trustee and as a Parish Councillor for many of them.

Steve was committed to representing the community and took the lead in several successful campaigns to ensure Bradpole was made a better place to live in for everyone.

We have lost a good friend, neighbour and a valued councillor who was well respected by all those who served with him.

Steve will be greatly missed and remembered with respect by so many people in the local community and further afield.

Our hearts go out to Steve’s family and friends at this very sad time.

Bradpole Post Office

Bradpole Village Post Office in the heart of our community

Following the sudden closure of Bradpole Post Office the family have published a statement indicating that owing to ill-health they will be unable to re-open and the business will therefore be put on the market.

This is sad news to all in Bradpole and our thoughts and best wishes are with the family.

Peter, Jacqui and the family have provided an invaluable service to the community and the hope of all of us is that a new owner is found shortly who is able to fill the huge void that has been left.

With the nearest Post Office being in Bridport can we please ask for our community to look out for one another and to help those who are unable to get to Bridport PO with transport etc.

A3066 Sea Road North Toucan Crossing, Bridport Cycleway – Night Works

A message from Dorset Highways

“We are currently installing a new Toucan Crossing and completing the shared use facility/cycleway. We need to carry out some carriageway resurfacing works as part of the scheme.

The works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm to 7am on Thursday 23 or Friday 24 November 2017. The works will only take one night. We do not anticipate the works to take all night, with the noisiest operation of removing the existing surface completed by 10pm.”
