  • many documents are in PDF format and are not accessible

We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find
any problems that aren’t listed on this page or think we’re not meeting
accessibility requirements, please contact the Parish Clerk* as above.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (no 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’).  If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, please contact the

Equality Advisory  Support Service.

Disproportionate burden

This website serves the residents of Bradpole Civil Parish (pop 2300) and neighbouring parishes typically receiving 12 visits per day with occasional peaks. Whilst we wish to make the website accessible to all there will be some areas of non-compliance which would be a disproportionate burden to fix. To minimise costs to taxpayers all work has been undertaken in-house by volunteer councillors and the parish clerk(s). We have not employed external consultants.

How we tested this website

This website was tested manually during the Spring of 2020 in addition to which the WAVE Web Accessibility Tool, as recommended by Dorset Council in a presentation to Dorset’s Town & Parish Councils, was used. Scores of amendments have subsequently been made  to improve compliance with the results now reported in the: WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY CHECK LOG 2020

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

Bradpole Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile applications) (No.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website is currently partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

We plan to fix issues, where possible, as they arise and to check new content for accessibility as it is published.

A sample check of 15% of content will be made each Spring, commencing in the Spring of 2021, to be undertaken by the Parish Clerk or deputy Parish Clerk who will be the responsible person(s).

This statement was prepared on 25/06/2020.
